Niles
Terms

The deal, in plain words.

Niles is early-access software. These terms say what that means for you.

Early access means things change

Niles is being built. Features will appear, change shape, and occasionally be removed. We may need to take it offline for a while. We will be straight with you about what works and what does not, and we will never present something as finished when it is not.

Who can sign up

You need to be an adult to open a Niles account, because opening one means agreeing to these terms. Children take part as people your household records, not as account holders, and the adult who runs the household is the one responsible for what goes into it. The Privacy page sets out how we handle a child's information.

What you need to do

Your data stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you put into Niles. We hold it to run the service for you. You can ask us for a copy at support@getniles.com, and you can delete your account or ask us to delete your household's information entirely. See the Privacy page.

What we do not promise

During early access Niles is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be available, error-free, or that it will read everything correctly. Niles proposes and you approve. It is a tool that helps you keep track, not a replacement for your own judgement about your family's commitments. Please do not rely on it alone for anything with real consequences, such as medical or legal deadlines.

To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited. Nothing here removes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, which we cannot exclude and do not try to.

Cost

Early access is free. If we introduce a subscription we will tell you well beforehand, and you will choose whether to continue. We will not charge you without asking. See Pricing.

Ending it

You can stop using Niles at any time and delete your account. We may end or suspend access if these terms are broken, or if we stop offering the service, in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to get a copy of your information.

If these terms change

We may need to change these terms as Niles grows. If a change matters to you we will tell you by email before it takes effect, and the review date at the foot of this page always says when it was last touched. If you do not want to continue under the new terms, you can stop and take your information with you.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction. Nothing in this section affects rights you have where you live that cannot be contracted out of.
